MY EPK lets artists build a public press kit and lets promoters and venues find and book them, on my-epk.com and in the MY EPK iPhone app. This page explains what we store and why.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name, from the sign-in you choose (Apple, Google or email). Passwords are held by Amazon Cognito; we never store them.
- Press kit content: everything you type or upload to your kit: text, links, photos, tracks and open dates. When you publish, that content is public by design and may be indexed by search engines.
- Messages: messages and booking requests you send to other members, stored so the other person can read and answer them. The owner of MY EPK can also read them, to keep members safe, answer reports and see how bookings come together; nobody else at MY EPK does, and they are never sold or shared.
- The list: if you join at my-epk.com/join (from a QR at a show or on a kit), your email, and your name and city if you add them; your phone number only if you tick the box to get texts. We keep the time you joined and the words you agreed to. Unsubscribe from any email in one click, or reply STOP to any text.
- Stories: if you tick “Share my shows on @my.epk stories” in the kit editor, we may post the flyers of your upcoming shows, with your name and Instagram handle, to the @my.epk Instagram stories. We keep each tick and untick with the time and the words you saw. Untick it any time and we stop.
- Feedback: what you send through the feedback form, with the screenshot if you add one and the page and device it came from.
- Listen: when you like a track at my-epk.com/listen, we keep the like with your account, or with the random visitor id in a cookie on your device when you are not signed in. We count likes per track to pick music for MY EPK playlists; nobody sees who liked what.
- Push notifications (iPhone app): if you allow notifications, the device token Apple gives us so we can send them. Choose which kinds you get on your Account page; signing out stops them.
- Usage records: the pages you view and the actions you take (such as views, shares, plays, swipes and messages sent), with IP address, device and browser type, recorded by MY EPK itself to run, secure and improve the service. We use no third-party analytics or advertising tools.
- Technical logs: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for up to 30 days to run and secure the service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Our cookies are our own and only serve MY EPK: they keep you signed in, hold a draft or shortlist you started before signing in, count visits, and remember which link brought you here (30 days). No advertising cookies.
Third parties
MY EPK runs on Amazon Web Services: hosting, the database, photo and track storage, sign-in (Amazon Cognito) and email. Sign-in with Apple or Google goes through them if you choose it. Notifications on iPhone go through the Apple Push Notification service. Feedback is filed on our issue board (Jira, by Atlassian). Embedded players load from Spotify and SoundCloud when you add those links, subject to their own policies.
AI assistants
You can build a kit through an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client) connected to my-epk.com/mcp. We receive only what the assistant sends to your kit: the text, links and photo addresses you asked it to add. We do not receive your conversation. Such drafts belong to nobody until you open the claim link and sign in; unclaimed drafts are deleted after 30 days, photos included. Profile and release details come from the public APIs of Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Mixcloud when you ask for them, and stock photos from Unsplash when you ask for those.
Your choices
Unpublish your kit at any time from the dashboard. Delete your account at any time from Account, then Delete my account, on the website or in the app: that removes your sign-in, your kits with their photos and tracks, your messages, saved lists, open dates and push tokens straight away. Feedback you sent and usage records are kept without your account attached. You can also email hello@my-epk.com from your account address and we will do it for you within 7 days.
