Psychedelic electronic with live guitar & metaphysical messages

Spaceship Earth is a psychedelic bass artist who plays live electric guitar over the electronics, came up in Michigan, and now lives in Denver.

The night in Detroit

Of all the bills Spaceship Earth has played, one stays put. In their words: "I remember opening up for Desert Dwellers in Detroit, and the dancefloor was just unreal."

They name the Desert Dwellers show as the night they will never forget.

Spaceship Earth

How it started

The story starts in Kalamazoo. "I first got started in Kalamazoo, MI and got to open up for The Floozies," they say. More Michigan support slots followed, for "artists like Ott, Papadosio, Infected Mushroom and many more" before they began "spreading my wings across the country and playing festivals all over."

Their kit lists the wider company they have kept on bills and stages: Tipper, Shpongle, Emancipator, Kalya Scintilla and EOTO among them.

The sound

The kit puts the project in one sentence: psychedelic electronic bass music with live electric guitar and inspirational messages, inspired by nature, the cosmos and beyond. Under that sits a long list of sources, from world music instrumentation to rock, reggae, drum and bass, psytrance and modern bass music.

The guitar is the part that sets it apart. theUntz.com, quoted in the kit, heard "powerful guitar riffing and extremely heavy bass performers" and called it "exactly the kind of music you would want to be listening to while traveling through space."

The catalog on Bandcamp shows how much of it is made with other people. There are records with Lauren Nikohl, Stupid Fried, Ace On Earth, Siege Music and ONE., remixes for Lauren Nikohl and DTO, and the Neuro-Divergent EP.

Right now

The work is a new album. Spaceship Earth is finishing it now and describes the push in plain terms: "Really leveling up my production quality and song writing, alongside my guitar playing."

What is next

Denver is new. They have just moved there and are starting, slowly, to book shows while the album gets finished. They feel the sound coming into focus, and they want this to be the stretch where it breaks through in the scene.
