SPECIAL_K

Tucson, Arizona | DJ • Producer • Event Curator

Special_K is a Tucson based DJ, producer, and event curator with deep roots in Arizona's underground electronic music scene. With over 300 events under his belt, he's spent years behind the decks, building connections, bringing people together, and creating spaces where music and community come first.

His sound doesn't really fit inside one box. Moving between 140, deep dubstep, psychedelic bass, experimental sounds, and everything in between, Special_K gravitates toward heavy low end, intricate sound design, hypnotic grooves, and those unexpected moments that make a set its own experience. It's a little weird, a little wonky, sometimes dark, sometimes funky, but always about the journey.

Beyond the decks, he's been involved in building the scene from the ground up. As co producer of Tucson's Tunnel Renegade Raves, he's helped bring underground music into unconventional spaces, creating experiences rooted in community, creativity, and the freedom to just let go. His approach has always been about more than throwing a party. It's about creating a place where people can connect, discover new sounds, and feel like they belong.

His journey has taken him from the local underground to stages and events including Gem & Jam, Burning Man, and Sunbar, sharing lineups with artists such as Mystic Grizzly, Govinda, Trevor Moontribe, Mastuh, Mahsiv, and Shwilly. He's also spent three years as a resident DJ at The Kava Bar in Tucson.

Whether he's digging deep into the 140 spectrum or taking things somewhere completely unexpected, Special_K approaches every set as an opportunity to connect sounds, people, and places through music.

No two journeys are quite the same. That's kind of the point.
